Most PITT-related service issues are minor, and can be resolved by providing assistance via phone. On this page you will find the most common service issues, their causes and how to solve them. Please see ‘Relevant downloads’ at the bottom of this page to download/share this information in a PDF-file. There will be referred to our installation manual frequently, so please make sure to keep this at hand when trying to fix an issue. The manual can also be downloaded below.
Situation A → A burner ignites and turns off immediately
Press the control knob down for a few seconds longer. The therm couple needs a few seconds to reach the right temperature, in order to be able to unlock the safety valve.
Set the control knob at the right height. This can be done by placing some rings down the shaft. See step 13, 14 & 15 of manual.
Situation B → The control knob chafes the sealing scale
Adjust the set screws or the control knob. See step 14, 16 & 17 of manual.
Replace the sealing scale. See step 11 & 20 of manual.
Situation C → Spark ignition stays active
Adjust the set screws or the control knob. See step 14, 16 & 17 of manual.
Replace the sealing scale. See step 11 & 20 of manual.
Situation D → A burner does not ignite
Plug in the module. In case of a battery: check if the battery is low, replace if necessary.
Open the main gas valve.
Clean, dry or replace the spark ignition.
Reinstall/reposition the burner parts, make sure they are positioned in the right way and order. See image. Please note: even the smallest deviation of one of the burners parts can lead to incorrect functioning of the flames.
Clean/dry the burner parts, make sure that he outflow holes are open.

Replace the fuse.

Situation E → A burner burns uneven
Reinstall/reposition the burner parts, make sure they are positioned in the right way and order. See image. Please note: even the smallest deviation of one of the burners parts can lead to incorrect functioning of the flames.
Clean/dry the burner parts, make sure that he outflow holes are open.
